100! We did it!

A cake for the grand centennial

Who knew 5 years ago that Vinyl Club would make it all the way to 100 editions*. It took a ton of broken headphones, needles, messy mixers, too-short extension cords, 15 bars (that we can remember) across 2 continents and millions of scratchy records but we made. What's more is we made it with YOU, yes you the participant. We met some pretty sweet djs who showed up and knocked off our socks, and we also helped launch some pretty wild djs too. We care about everyone of you who have hovered over the decks. Keep in touch and thank you!

*Note: Is the 100th edition? For all we know that was 3 weeks ago, or is really 7 from now. We aren't great at counting.

Vinyl Club #79 --- Taipei Debut

In October of 2012 DJ Doppler and DJ Stage Fright brought Vinyl Club's antics and their records across the Pacific Ocean to Taiwan. Records may be harder to come by (and more expensive $$$) in Taipei, but records lovers are more devote then ever. What better joint to host the club then Taipei's most rocking Revolver bar.

Dan and Nate met at Oberlin College, not far from Cleveland and had a band called Jaguar Ride. Now Dan reissues post-punk records on his label Acute while Nate DJ's his party "Burn it Down" and scribbles for Dusted Magazine and other music sites.

MNVC -- September At Last

The heat has dried up (fingers crossed) so you'll have no problem hauling extra records to one of two Monday Night Vinyl Clubs this month. Remember to buy Brett Tieman (founder and CEO of Vinyl Club) a drink before he moves permanently to a cosmopolitan tropical dreamland in Taiwan. This is going to be an exciting month.
